Are all of these “cancer events” truly necessary?
In all honesty, what do they accomplish?
They do bring some needed awareness to the current and very predominant cancer epidemic that millions are facing, so they do serve somewhat of a purpose, but are these events the much-needed key to stopping it’s takeover?
Is the public aware of where the raised money is going?
Are these events really aiding in the fight against cancer?
Maybe, just a little…
Sure, some of the money goes toward research, but it’s not what we all think.
Over the years, we have both followed a few of these major “cancer fighting” events, and have yet to see the logic behind it all, simply because most of the people involved just aren’t aware of what’s going on around them.
Today, we’re going to cover a topic that may anger you, it may stir up some emotion within you, or it may simply be in-line with your views.
We have discussed this issue in the past, but have yet to go over it again in more detail.
BIG companies putting on a BIG FRONT for fighting cancer
It’s as if a lot of these problem companies are exploiting the pink ribbon to increase sales, and that shouldn’t sit right with anybody.
Joining the fight takes more than wearing a ribbon, and what’s crazy is that this whole “ribbon industry” is banking out pretty huge on the movement – it has branded itself quite well.
What we find absolutely disturbing is that the pink movement is pretty much unregulated. In other words, nearly any product can represent the image – even the ones that have been scientifically linked to cancer.
Yup, imagine that! A product that can actually cause cancer, and blatantly advertises that it’s fighting cancer – how ironic.
The associated dangers with most mainstream products
But this whole subject goes far beyond just wearing pink to make a statement…
How many times must we see cancer survivors going about their lives incorrectly after actually beating such a horrible condition?! We know of a couple people who have beaten cancer, but have yet to reform the ways in which they live.
We see it with others all the time…
Dietary habits don’t change for many survivors, lifestyle choices remain unchanged, and for the most part, many people go back to their old (and very toxic) ways of living. It’s pretty sad, but many take the “hey, I beat it, so I’m ok” path, and that’s not a good thing.
It’s equivalent to a man or woman getting their stomach stapled to lose weight, and once the weight is off, they start eating fast food gain – are people insane?
If either of us were ever to succumb to such a state of health, it would be a pivotal moment in our lives – one that would definitely be followed by some type of new awakening, and yes, this does happen to many survivors, but we haven’t seen it on a level that’s monumental quite yet.
Just the other day, we saw a young lady eating fast food, all while wearing a shirt that said? “I beat cancer.”
This type of ignorance hurts to see, because with these types of people “representing” the cancer movement, we’re not going to get very far.
A cancer walk to remember
In 2007, a cancer walk was taking place in the San Francisco Bay Area (where we’re both originally from).
In this demonstration, there were hundreds of people walking the streets wearing pink, yelling “Fight Cancer,” and all of that nonsense. Sure, it was nice to see everybody come together for a cause, but it’s not what you think.
What we both found extremely ironic was that these so-called hardcore “activists” were demonstrating all while eating junk from a local fast food chain - taco wrappers in the hands of about 100-150 people!
Yup, the local Taco joint had actually sponsored the walk!
We thought to ourselves, “is this for real?”
Do these people truly understand what it is they’re fighting for?
Not a chance…
Now, this is obviously a sensitive subject for a lot of people simply because almost everybody has been touched in some way, shape or form by this horrible disease. But come on, eating foods that can actually cause cancer at a cancer protest?
How can one not see the irony here?!
After this sad little demonstration, we went online to see who was actually sponsoring these events, and you won’t believe what was discovered! With out naming any big names here, we’ll give you a quick description – one sells hamburgers, another sells soda, and the third sells tacos.
Do you see what we’re getting at here?
A blatant slap in the face!
That’s pretty much what it feels like when seeing this type of activity happen. When problem companies start taking on a huge role in the “fight,” one should begin to question the entire scenario.
What we’d like to point out here is that these companies are not only a HUGE part of the problem, they’re marketing themselves as part of the solution, and that my friends is a GIANT sap in the face.
In other words, the very same companies that include harmful substances in their products that can cause disease, are now cashing out on the movement.
It’s frustrating to see this type of behavior for the simple reason that millions upon million of people across the globe are still being impacted by this horrible issue.
When the big red clown that sells hamburgers starts marketing himself as the answer to cancer, and people actually believe it, it’s easy to see that the world is in trouble.
Facts on Cancer
Do we really need all of this research?
Studies are definitely needed to shed light on a lot of this cancer business, but it’s already kind of been proven how this disease is able to effectively come in and take over.
People are leading toxic lifestyles, and this is definitely a giant part of the puzzle.
- Aspartame causes cancer
- Cleaning products cause cancer
- Sugar causes cancer
- Pollution causes cancer
- Stress causes cancer
- Fast food causes cancer
- Food colorings cause cancer
- Cosmetics cause cancer
- Air fresheners cause cancer
Among many others…
The source of this problem has pretty much been pinpointed, but people are just refusing to see the obvious.
It’s time to think – like REALY think!
With this info fresh in your mind, we must ALL think before we invest our time (or our money) into fighting this horrible disease.
In simpler terms, don’t just jump onto any cancer bandwagon, or buy a pink ribbon just because it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside – get the facts and fight, but make sure to fight correctly.
Donate your money if you choose to donate at all, but research where it’s going.
The ultimate way to fight this epidemic would be to learn new ways to improve your life and the lives of those around you by means of avoiding this disease entirely.
The number one BEST thing YOU can do to fight this disease is to be more aware with your daily decisions.
- Leading a less conventional existence
- Eating more fresh organic real foods
- Using better body products
- Drinking more water
- Staying away from junk food
- Avoiding sugar
- Exercising correctly
Luckily, we cover a lot of these areas!
All of us should be a part of the fight, but we should go about it correctly. Next time you see one of these advertisements, be critical, get some research going, and understand what it’s all about!
Peace and Love to all!
