All About Cholesterol

Oh Cholesterol…so important, yet so misunderstood! Why is it that millions of people today seem to think they are having cholesterol issues? If you really think about it, these cardiovascular problems have not been around that long; yet they are extremely widespread! Our phobias concerning this issue has literally spiraled out of control and we want to stop it from proceeding any further. Maybe it’s possible that our influx in heart disease is because of something other than our ‘infamous cholesterol killer.’

Fatty Fact

***Cholesterol is NOT the cause of heart disease like many seem to think!***

Cholesterol has gotten a very bad reputation. If you have been following us for some time now, you know that we are all about dispelling widespread myths. Because of our desire to ‘Stomp the Phoniness,’ we MUST explain the HUGE difference between ‘dietary cholesterol’ and ‘blood cholesterol,’ and how one doesn’t necessarily influence the other. This means that your morning eggs do NOT have to be restricted like your ‘doctor’ has advised. If anything science has proven that eggs on a daily basis can actually be quite healthy if coming from well-raised chickens. Sorry to say, but we all have been lied to for some time now!

It’s obvious that heart disease and cholesterol have been tied together for a while now as well: about 60 years. But have we wasted energy on worrying about this so-called ‘problem?’ Cholesterol has been our villain and we have loved persecuting it. But have we been wrong this whole time? YES, we have!!! People have become so afraid of this life-yielding substance and have forgotten that WE (humans) NEED IT TO LIVE! No cholesterol = NO LIFE! Society’s constant restriction has actually put us all further from health if anything, not closer to it.

The LDL and HDL Madness

LDL and HDL are lipoproteins. In other words, fats combined with proteins. Yes, a huge imbalance may be detrimental to one’s health to some degree but this goes for everything! Think about it, anything out-of-balance and done in excess can have damaging effects on the human body, no surprise there. Even too much water can kill a person. The key is to strive for that perfect ratio. This means that medication is NOT your answer to TRUE cardiovascular wellness. This also means that your LDL and HDL levels are not a HUGE issue like you have been lead into believing.

Low-density lipoprotein, High-density lipoprotein: where in these words do you see the word ‘CHOLESTEROL?’ The truth is that LDL and HDL are not cholesterol. Rather, they are proteins responsible for the transport of it. LDL takes it to your tissues while HDL takes it back to your liver to be recycled. These proteins are vehicles by which cholesterol ‘hitches a ride.’ Their balance and size mostly depend on how well a person takes care of their body: not medication. Once again, perscriptions CANNOT fix this problem. Rather, pills cover up root causes and hide the truth.

It seems as though we have become lost in the ‘HDL and LDL’ numbers game and have forgotten that cholesterol is needed for ALL LIFE. It is also extremely important to understand and realize that the majority of one’s levels is mostly influenced by how much their liver is creating: not what they’re eating! What a person eats has little to do with the whole picture here.

The amount produced by the liver is also directly tied into one’s insulin levels. Controlling your insulin is, by far, a better tactic in improving cardiovascular health than taking toxic statins. Pretty much dispels all of what we’ve been told for the past 50-60 years…right?

Think about it: If you have ‘high cholesterol’ and you go to your doctor, what is he/she going to do? Is your physician going to tell you to improve your insulin production, or put you on some type of stain drug? Take a wild guess at what he/she will most likely do if put in this situation…It’s sad to think of how our ‘Healers’ have turned into ‘drug pushers’ rather than true wellness figures. FAT doctors advising FAT patients on what pills to take: does this seem like our true solution?

It’s obvious that we have forgotten the basics here. The truth is that ‘High Cholesterol’ is less of an issue than we have been led into believing. Who is the one deciding what is acceptable anyway? Doctors who are pushing drugs? No wonder why this is such a big problem today…it makes TONS OF MONEY! Big drug companies influencing doctors to sell this crap. Have you ever thought of disease as a business? You better believe it is!

If you really want to avoid heart disease and keep your levels in check, do as follows:

  • Get a lot of animal-based omega 3 fats in your body. Make sure they are of high quality and from a good manufacturer.
  • Cut sugars and grains
  • Eat more veggies
  • Exercise more often
  • Figure out your metabolic type: what foods your body can handle
  • Stop cooking with vegetable oils
  • Incorporate more coconut oil (saturated fat) into your life
  • More monounsaturated fats (avocados, olive oil)
  • Drink water and only water (filtered preferably) No juice or anything that will spike your insulin production.

These are the few keys we recommend everybody to do. Honestly, the answer to our so-called ‘cardiovascular issues’ lie within how well we’re taking care of our bodies. The bottom line here is that evolution has engineered us all to work a specific way. If we’re not treating our bodies with respect, why should it function correctly?
