Aspartame is SCARY!
That’s for sure!
And like with anything scary or questionable involving one’s health, you know we have to give you our two cents on it all…
We’ve actually come across even more evidence that ASPARTAME is NOT safe. And if you’re not fully convinced that this junk is harmful by now, you may want to reassess those views of yours.
What we find absolutely crazy is that aspartame is still widely used in thousands of foods today (around 5,000), and people still think it’s a healthier alternative than sugar – this couldn’t be further from the truth.
To us, aspartame is possibly one of the biggest health concerns in the food system to date, and nothing is going to be addressed, changed, or implemented unless the people (you and I) start demanding a little more change.
And that’s exactly why we want to talk about it with you today!
Let’s start with its discovery…
A quick history
Aspartame has been around since 1965. And since its incorporation into our food system, it’s stirred up some debate.
James M. Schlatter (working for G.D. SEARLE & COMPANY way back) had actually discovered aspartame by complete mistake.
Yup, this guy had licked his fingers on accident, and by doing so, realized just how sweet they tasted.
Think about that for a second…
One of the absolute worst additions to our food supply was discovered on accident!
Kinda crazy, huh?
So what is aspartame anyway?
Aspartame has three main components:
- Aspartic acid
- Methanol (wood alcohol)
Aspartic acid and phenylalanine are both amino acids, and the methanol, as you will soon see, is a whole different beast to tackle.
Now the aspartic acid and the phenylalanine amino acids are held together in what’s called a “methyl-ester bond.”
And after something like a diet soda is consumed, this little methyl-ester bond then breaks down and releases methanol (wood alcohol) to roam about the body. And this my friends is the beginning of a very dangerous cycle.
What happens next?
So when this methanol is released, it then gets converted into what’s called formaldehyde, and this is about the time that the body sends out a major distress signal!
Sirens sound, and the immune system is shocked into defense mode!
Formaldehyde is toxic, and if you didn’t already know, is considered a dangerous neurotoxin that has been scientifically proven to cause diseases like cancer, nerve damage, and even certain brain disorders.
The FDA has actually received thousands of complaints relating to aspartame in the past, but it seems as if these complaints were simply discarded and pushed aside. The truth was somethign that they didn’t want the public to see.
But that’s starting to change…

Why is this junk still in nearly every grocery store across the globe if so many complaints are put forth by consumers?

Let’s take a look at an insane study we came across a while back…

So thee results were pretty crazy!
One monkey died, while five had seizures during the study and overall examination.
This research was actually put in motion in order to prove the safety of aspartame, as it was funded by Searle, but “proving its safety” is obviously not what had happened.
The results had more than startled the scientists involved with the examination, and it seemed to push them to keep quite on many of the insane findings they came across.
Searle, frightened by the outcome, had then “failed to explain” these troubling outcomes in a report that was to be submitted to the FDA summing up the results and all that.
“Failed to explain?”
It’s pretty evident that they simply didn’t want to get burned on something that could work against them, and that’s pretty obvious by now. If this exact evidence was put forth at that certain time for more to see, the aspartame outcome may have been different, but that’s a difficult assessment to make.
What’s even crazier is that the actual results of this research were not included in the documents given to the FDA!
G.D. Searle had then actually denied any type of involvement with the research. WTF is going on here?
It seems as if there was some shady underhanded work being done here, and even though it seems difficult to prove, nothing looks correct! But hey, that’s just our opinion.
It’s even theorized that falsified documents were then given to the FDA to cover their asses, but again, this is also pretty tough to legitimately prove.
It’s not easy to go against the government on such a serious issue.
The animals involved in the study were never available for autopsy, and we find that to be even more troubling.
More aspartame corruption?
Yup, you better believe it!

So in 1977, Donald Rumsfeld (yes, the Secretary of Defense) was put on board as President and CEO of G.D. Searle to put forth the aspartame approval being that they were experiencing major difficulties at getting it approved and put into mass circulation.
Rumsfeld’s then appointed and hired a man by the name of John Robson as the Executive Vice President to help run things.
Guess they were best buds or something…
John Robson (coincidently) was a former lawyer with Sidley and Austin (Searle’s Law Firm).
We’d sure say so…
It seemed like Rumsfeld was lining and building up the “aspartame team,” and it was proving to be one powerful force!
A force that seemed to actually work, and we say “that worked” because if you look around today, aspartame is still in thousands of foods worldwide. It seems as though the measures put in place during this time are still with us today.
And that just sucks…
But even so, during all of this back and forth arguing, debating, appointing, and assigning, there seemed to be much hesitation as to IF aspartame was still safe to use or not.
That is until our ex president Mr. Regan took office.
Let’s talk about that for a second…
On January 21, 1981, literally the day after Ronald Reagan became president, G.D. Searle reapplied for the approval of aspartame.
Great timing, wouldn’t you say?
G.D. Searle had then submitted some brand new studies (probably carefully selected) to get their new request approved, studies that more than likely “legitimized” the use of such a product.
Reagan was expected to replace Jere Goyan, the former FDA Commissioner, and at this point, the entire picture was all starting to come together…
G.D. Searle President & CEO, Donald Rumsfeld’s obvious connections to the Republican Party were also thought to push/assist Searle’s decision to reapply for aspartame’s approval at this time as well.
And on October 15, 1982, G.D. Searle petitioned the FDA for approval of aspartame’s use in soft drinks and even in children’s vitamins.
Can you believe that?
In 1985, G.D. Searle was sold off to the chemical company, Monsanto.
And for those who don’t already know, Monsanto pretty much runs the world’s food supply.
Monsanto then created the company NutraSweet as a separate subsidiary from G.D. Searle.
A lot of information, right?
And there’s so much more, but this was just kind of a little snapshot to help better explain the corruption surrounding the use of aspartame.
Pretty crazy, huh?
Long story short…
This toxic junk is still everywhere, and it seems to be in place today because of payoffs, obvious corruption, and miscellaneous underhanded activities.
Don’t trust it, don’t eat it, and don’t believe the so-called “safety claims” put forth by the FDA.
The risks are too heavy to take any chances.

What can you do?
Just stop eating it!
Read you labels, and make sure this junk is not in any of the foods you’re buying.
Quite the diet drinks and the low-calorie selections.
Get on board with REAL food, and stop worrying so much about calories.
The public needs to reassess their intake of such toxic “0 calorie” items if they are to feel better and make some positive changes regarding their health.
Many within the health and wellness community believe that diseases like cancer and the consumption of toxins like aspartame are linked, and we’re more than on board with such stances.
But hold on a second…
We’re definitely not going to sit here and say that ‘Aspartame’ is solely responsible for any and all diseases today, but we are going to say that it DOES play a major role to some degree.
There is so much ‘toxicity’ lurking within our stores today, and aspartame is definitely part of that toxic puzzle.
Aspartame is NOT natural, and it doesn’t belong in the body – period!
